In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
"Bism Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim"
We seek His help from beginning to end. “Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory” (Surah Al-Fath, 1). I praise and thank God, the Exalted, for His countless blessings. God’s Blessings Be Upon Our Prophet Mohammed and His noble Family.
From an early age, I was privileged to witness the richness of Arab heritage in its diverse artistic expressions, an experience that laid the foundation for my artistic path. Through long practice and sustained engagement with expressionism and abstraction, my work has evolved to reflect a culture and identity deeply rooted in my consciousness.
My professional journey began at a young age and now spans nearly forty years. It encompasses interconnected and multifaceted experiences, ranging from drawing and painting to architectural and interior installations, theatrical set design, and freelance academic teaching. I have also pursued studies in archaeological restoration, a discipline I regard as one shaped by precision, patience, and accumulated expertise.
For me, art is a daily practice of contemplation, inner emotion, and creative engagement. I approach contemporary art movements with careful study and reflection, while expressing my work through a distinctive visual language grounded in cultural identity and heritage. Artistic expression is an innate sensibility, whereas techniques are tools that can be mastered, refined, and innovated through continuous experimentation.
Arabic calligraphy and ornamentation occupy a central place in my artistic life. Islamic architecture encompasses all forms of art, craft, and design, while Arabic calligraphy embodies meaning, essence, and form. Through integrating calligraphic studies with fine arts, the structural principles of calligraphy merge organically with the elements of visual expression.
The use of recycled materials is also integral to my practice. Many of my works incorporate recycled resources and construction waste. My passion for experimentation has enabled me to create contemporary artworks and architectural elements from diverse recycled materials, harmonizing the richness of heritage with the spirit of modernity.
Art education has been another major focus of my career since 2003. Teaching children to appreciate and practice art from an early age fosters generations who perceive art as an essential part of everyday life. To this end, I founded a children’s art program in my studio entitled “يلا نرسم – Let’s dRAW,” dedicated to nurturing psychological, emotional, and creative development through artistic practice.

HighDoor Art Gallery was founded in 2002 as the first online art gallery initiative in Egypt, hosted on a first-generation web hosting service (archived at: https://www.highdoor.0catch.com/). The platform marked an early experiment in digital art presentation within the regional cultural context.
The first virtual art exhibition hosted by HighDoor Art Gallery featured the work of Dr. Hossam Sakr, Professor of Art at the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University. The exhibition formed part of his contemporary artistic practice, which sought to transcend traditional exhibition media through early digital dissemination.
HighDoor Art Gallery represented a pioneering model for online exhibitions in the regional art scene. Its discontinuation resulted from the closure and commercial failure of the hosting service providers, rather than from any deficiencies in artistic vision, curatorial direction, or organizational capacity.
In October 2010, the initiative was conceptualized through the creation of the You & I aRT page on Facebook. The platform focused on sharing diverse artworks under the guiding vision “from East to West, from Ancient to Modern.” You & I aRT positioned art as a universal language, presenting authentic works by emerging and established artists and facilitating direct access to art for private and professional spaces.

I believe that art is a message that must be fully realized within the artist before it reaches others. True art does not imitate God’s creation nor provoke harmful instincts; rather, it clarifies ideas, inspires reflection on divine signs, and cultivates gratitude. I pray that my work may benefit people, serve their needs, and reach a wider audience.

May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his noble family. Praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
Hossam El-Kady.
“The spontaneous instincts evident in the formations, motifs, and chromatic harmonies of the work by artist Hossam El-Qady arise from a reservoir of innate creativity that bespeaks the early signs of a highly distinctive artistic practice, a distinctiveness that is further affirmed through the repetition of artistic experimentation.”
A handwritten artistic review and personal dedication addressed to the artist Hossam El-Kady, signed by the Egyptian visual artist Wahid El-Belkasy (1962–2022) on Sunday, 12/3/2006.
